My Mother loved Cardnials. We actually have a family of the song birds at our home that stay close to our bird feeder. The songbird measures at 8" long and 4 1/2" high. The black cord strap is 24". The lining is done in a black fabric. The red bird is detailed, nicely crafted and a dust/sleep cover to keep her in the pristine to excellent condition that it appears to be in. I do not think it was ever used. My guess it was kept in a curio for a decoration. Coming from a very clean non smoking home. Collectible, rare and retired purse hand carved from the Acacia wood.
